Make it your own
The Freycinet has an honest, industrial soul, exposed ceiling, generous floor, and a character that doesn’t try too hard. It holds its own whether it’s dressed for a black-tie gala or stripped back for a full-day conference.
What we love most is watching people make it completely their own. Every event brings something different, new lighting rigs, bold tablescapes, hanging installations, table runners that took someone three weeks to source and the room takes it all in its stride.
When you need more space, the Freycinet doesn’t have to work alone. The bi-fold walls on either side open into the Tamar and Cradle Rooms giving you room for a cocktail bar, a catering station, a silent auction, or a trade floor, without the main room ever feeling stretched.
Catering
A good meal is never just logistics. From a working conference lunch to a three-course gala dinner, the Freycinet is served by Tailrace's in-house kitchen. Our team will help you build a menu your guests are still talking about on the way home, morning tea packages, cocktail canapes, or a proper sit-down dinner. The table is central to everything we do here.
Flexable Capacity
The Freycinet is generous by nature. Open the bi-fold walls on either side and it connects with the Tamar and Cradle Rooms, adding space for catering stations, a cocktail bar, a trade floor, or a silent auction without the room ever feeling stretched. The layout grows with your event.
Staging + Lighting
Two levels of staging give your presentation, or your band, room to breathe. Pull the lower stage in or out depending on the moment. Fairy lights line the ceiling, basic stage lighting is included, and full blackout capacity means you can set the mood however the night calls for it, from intimate dinner to high-energy keynote.
Technology
Projector screen, full PA system, and multiple microphone configurations, all set up and tested before your guests arrive. Every Freycinet booking includes two hours with our in-house AV technician, so technology is genuinely the last thing on your mind on the day. Free wifi for everyone in the room.
