At the heart of Tailrace is a simple but powerful belief: people matter.
We’re always looking for ways to make everyone feel welcome, whether that’s through our team culture or the way our building is designed.
Our space is nearly 20 years old, and we know that expectations and needs have evolved since we first opened our doors. That’s why, every time we renovate or refresh a space, we thoughtfully consider how we can make it more inclusive and accessible for all.
MOBILITY ACCESS
All of our function rooms are located on the ground floor, with no stairs at the entrance or between spaces.
We offer designated accessible parking right beside the front entrance in our turning circle.
For those parking in the upper carpark, mobility access is still easy, thanks to a gently sloping path that leads directly to the main level.
FOOD ALLERGIES
Food allergies are an inevitability in hospitality. Simply inform our team of any food allergies and we will ensure each guest gets a tasty meal.
We try to keep our menus dietary friendly and communicate main allergens on catering stations/menus.
We will individually plate a dietary meal for guests as needed.
FAMILY FRIENDLY
We have families coming in and out of Tailrace all week long as we're also home to Kids Paradise and Jude's Cafe and Baby Sensory Launceston.
We have kids menus and Kid's Paradise playground can be privately hired for your event.
Parents love our gender neutral baby change rooms.
DIVERSE TEAM
Our team is wonderfully diverse, bringing together people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. We’re also proud to have several team members with disabilities, and we’re committed to creating a supportive and equitable workplace for everyone.
SUPPORT ANIMALS
While we have a no-pets policy, we’re always happy to welcome working animals like assistance or guide dogs.
